Who we are

This is the personal website of Eric Grant, founder of PixelBay (pixelbay.uk), a UK web design and development studio. PixelBay runs this site. If you have any questions about this page, email hello@pixelbay.uk.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. There are no forms, accounts or newsletter sign-ups on this site. If you message on WhatsApp or send an email, that conversation is handled in WhatsApp or our email, and only used to reply to you.

PixelBot chat

Questions you type into PixelBot are sent to Google's Gemini AI to write an answer, using what's on this website. We don't keep chat logs. Google may use what's typed to improve its products, so please don't share personal details in the chat.

Cookies and your browser

We don't use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it's remembered next time. It never leaves your device and you can clear it any time.

Keeping things safe

To stop people abusing the PixelBot chat, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with the times of your recent questions. It can't be turned back into your IP address, it's only used to limit how many questions can be asked in a short time, and it's deleted automatically within 24 hours.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, page and time) for a short time to keep the servers secure.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. As we store so little, there's usually nothing to find - but just ask. Email hello@pixelbay.uk.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
